“I tried on nearly 30 dresses at five different bridal shops before I found my wedding gown.
As for my second gown, I designed it together with my mom. We discussed about the fabrics we liked and other details like the beaded straps and pleating at the back of the dress.
My mom then sourced for the fabrics and materials and sewn the dress herself!”

“I wanted my wedding gown to have a mermaid train and a clean silhouette. I also knew I wanted something with some lace.
After trying on many gowns, I chose the one I fell in love with at first glance – a lace mermaid by Pronovias from Truly Enamoured.”

“This sounds cliche, but I had ‘the moment’ when I tried on my gowns. They ended up being very different from what I initially envisioned for myself, which was something simple with tulle or crepe.”

“I knew I wanted to go with a local gown designer and did my research. We decided on Michelle Huimin from Bridal Veil for her clean, stylish and elegant designs.
I told her that I wanted an elegant design that makes a bold statement, and left the rest to her creative hands.
What was created is a stylish mermaid gown with a statement shoulder piece!”

We scrolled through Rico-A-Mona’s gown collections on their social media pages, and shortlisted a few that we liked before going to try them in person.
Jessie, the designer, was a great help through it all, and provided genuine and personal advice during my bridal fittings.”

“I wanted a bohemian style gown that would be light and easy to move in.

She did a splendid job and I absolutely love it.”

“Our traditional outfits and my evening gown were from The Wedding Brocade. While most couples would agree that the outfit selection is usually centered around the bride, we made it a point to ensure that both our preferences were equally considered.
We started by shortlisting the outfit designs and colours of my husband’s choice as there are usually fewer traditional outfit choices for men, and proceeded on considering the matching outfits for me.
We eventually decided on a traditional design with a modern twist in gold and black, with matching accessories. We were exceptionally pleased with the overall look!”

“I knew I wanted a simple lace gown that fit my curves and flared out into a lace train at the bottom. I also wanted it to have a low back, and to be comfortable enough to dance in.
I finally found my Made With Love lace gown from Bluebell Bridal in Melbourne and my bridesmaid’s fiance’s mum who’s a seamstress, fitted me.”

“I had been following my wedding gown designer – Stella Lunardy – on Instagram prior to my wedding and i really liked some of her designs. So when I was on my gown search, I flew to Jakarta for a consultation and she sketched out some designs for me.
In the end, I made a Chantilly lace mermaid gown for the morning festivities. For my banquet, I had a detachable, semi-sheer organza outer skirt that transformed my gown into a ballgown.”

“My bespoke gown was the result of countless hours of browsing through Instagram and Pinterest, and working closely with my gown designer from Kelly’s Bridal through numerous fittings! I had wanted a look which was timeless, flattering yet also modern.
The final design was a long sleeved bespoke number with an A-line silhouette.
The top was adorned with sequin flower appliques and designed with a plunging V back, and the bottom was made from layers of ephemeral tulle.
To allow me to move more easily around the venue, I chose to keep the dress light, with a small train for that touch of dreaminess.”

“I was looking for a satin gown with lace. Because my wedding was in Bali, I was learning towards a mermaid or trumpet cut instead of A-line or ballgown.
I went to nearly 10 bridal shops and finally found the dress in the last shop I visited – Blessed Brides. They had an amazing range of gowns from Pronovias and Rosa Clara that suited my taste perfectly.”

“My aim was to look like a million bucks, but spend way less than that.

“I had a pre-wedding shoot in Korea with a studio and it was there I fell in love with Korean style lace wedding gowns so I finalised a custom gown with the studio.
However, just six days before my wedding, I was informed that the gown will not be ready in time. So I immediately called the other bridal shop I was also working with and we managed to find a gown I liked within hours.
They were so helpful and professional, even altering the gown for me over the next couple of days. It was nerve-wrecking but the replacement gown looked great on me in the end.”

“I was looking for cheong sam style gowns and found Dang Bridal. She works so well with lace – French lace no less – and transforms them into the most amazing cheong sams.
In the end, I had three designs made by her for my wedding.”

“For my Bali wedding, I wanted to have something that was relaxed with a playful vibe and decided on the pairing of a long tulle skirt with a crochet top.
I could not find anything like that with wedding gown designers so I sourced for it myself by going online.”

“It was an easy search for me as I already knew what I wanted and had it pinned to my Pinterest board – though I had never figured out the name of the gown.
A month after my proposal, I found my Vera Wang Gemma gown at Tiara Bridal and knew it was the one when I tried it on. I tried on several gowns after, but they didn’t look as good on me as the Gemma gown.
There was an instant affinity because of its elegance, simplicity and the way it flattered my body shape.”
