If you felt major FOMO (fear of missing out) at this year’s Coachella watching livestreams from your couch or bed (and having your own couch-ella and bed-chella), you’re not alone.

Held over two weekends (10–12 and 17–19 April) in California’s Colorado Desert, Coachella has cemented itself as one of the world’s most influential music festivals. While it’s anchored by headline-making performances and surprise guest appearances, its fashion has become an event in its own right – closely watched, criticised and referenced long after the performances end.

This year was no exception, especially with one of the highest lineups of Asian artists yet in the festival’s history. From ethereal armour-inspired ensembles from Filipino P-Pop girl group BINI, to SHINee’s Taemin’s figure-skimming metallic-fringed crop top, we round up the most memorable looks from your favourite Asian celebrities across both weekends.

  1. 1. Katseye

  3. 3. BINI
  4. 4. Big Bang – G Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung
  5. 5. Fujii Kaze
  6. 6. Taemin
  7. 7. Lisa

Katseye

Debuting at the festival were the girls from K-pop group Katseye consisting of Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, Sophia Laforteza, and Yoonchae (with Manon Bannerman on temporary hiatus since February) whose candy-coloured ensembles stole the show in weekend one. Dressed in custom La Lune, a Ho Chi Minh–based label, their looks took a page from the court jester: think lace, polka dots, stripes and ruffled collars. Their looks were finished off with custom boots from South Korean brand Stand Oil.

For weekend two, the group showed out in lacey lingerie-inspired pink sets finished with ribbons, tulle and fur details – looks that made the Colorado desert even hotter.

Huntrix – EJAE, Rae Ami, Audrey Nuna

Singers EJAE, Rae Ami and Audrey Nuna from Huntrix, a fictional girl group from the famed animated movie K-pop Demon Hunters, also made a surprise cameo at Katseye’s set on weekend one in all-black outfits that brought an edge to the stage.

Audrey Nuna donned a sculptural, futuristic jacket with a cinched corset waist along with a layered skirt, EJAE put an spin on the festival’s boho-chic aesthetic by pairing leather fringed chaps by Mark Gong with a sequinned crop top, while Rei Ami wore a halter black tank, frayed mini skirt and boots, completed with gold accents and fingerless gloves with knuckle-grazing embellishments.

BINI

Filipino P-pop girl group BINI delivered one of the most conceptually rich outfits of the festival. Performing for the first time at the festival, for weekend one, the girls appeared in gold armour-inspired ensembles paired with salakot headpieces—traditional Filipino headwear reimagined for the stage. Designed by Marian Zara and Job Dacon, each piece was intricately crafted with recycled plastic and gold leafs. After which, the group revealed ethereal mermaid-inspired outfits in shades of blue and teal – BINI’s signature colours. Designed by Raf Villas, their ensembles were completed with tassels, details of Filipino weaving patterns, and striking gold jewelry.

For weekend two, they had equally jaw-dropping looks. First came iridescent lilac metallic sets by Marian Zara with custom Y2K floral embellishments by Raf Villas. Later, they transformed into red and blue warrior-inspired silhouettes—also by Marian Zara— which were absolute masterpieces of Filipino craftsmanship.

Big Bang – G Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung

K-pop boy band Big Bang’s long-awaited return to the global stage at Coachella was absolutely show-stopping in more ways than one.

Celebrating their 20th anniversary, the trio seemed to lean fully into edgy rock-star looks. In weekend one, G-Dragon appeared in a dramatic black, red and white faux fur Chanel coat, while Taeyang went shirtless beneath a black leather jacket and low rise pants with silver chains. Daesung opted for a black leather jacket, white t-shirt and a bandana tied to his jeans complete with Chrome Hearts jewelry.

Fujii Kaze

At Japanese singer Fujii Kaze’s set, the energy was as impeccable as his look. For weekend one, he was dressed in an oversized, airy neutral-coloured button down shirt and trousers, finished with simple square-rimmed black sunglasses and a cinched, wrapped waist. Comfortable and effortless, his garments moved fluidly with him as he commanded the stage.

Taemin

K-pop boy band SHINee’s Taemin’s look for weekend two was nothing short of mesmerising and of course, sexy. The first male K-pop solo artist to debut at Coachella, Taemin revealed a cropped, sleeveless top with metallic fringe draping across the bodice beneath his white blazer that he shrugged off mid-set.

Paired with fitted white trousers, the fringe glinted under the stage lights, and swayed with every move. Mid-set however, some threads snagged on his arm, even ripping - but Taemin kept the show going and made it work. If anything, the undone threads only added to the raw, rockstar edge of the look.

Lisa

For weekend two, K-pop girl group Blackpink’s Lisa made a surprise appearance at DJ Anyma’s set in a look that felt truly otherworldly.

Known for his techno sets, Anyma typically layers his performances with dramatic sci-fi fictional characters in his visuals. But on the Coachella stage this year, it was Lisa who stepped into that role. Performing their recent release, Bad Angel, and dancing on stage, she wore a custom metallic, sculpted bustier and iridescent cape by Iris Van Herpen, styled with silver boots and sleek, waist-length platinum hair.
