As a rising solo star and the former leader of the now-disbanded girl group IZ*ONE, Kwon Eun-bi is no stranger to delivering electrifying performances.
Last year, the star captured headlines with her standout performance at her first Waterbomb Seoul, earning her the title of “Waterbomb Queen.”
Following her recent comeback with the album Sabotage in June, as well as electrifying performances in the Waterbomb stages held in Korea earlier this year, the dynamic artiste is set to bring fresh energy and excitement to the Waterbomb Singapore stage.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” she shares, when asked to share her feelings on her upcoming performance. “Since it’s my first time performing in Singapore, I think the atmosphere will be really exciting!”
In an interview with Her World, the idol shares her anticipation for her Singapore debut, what fans can expect from her performance, and the surprising key item she keeps with her all the time during such shows.
What can fans expect from your performance at Waterbomb Singapore?
Kwon Eun-bi: I’ve prepared a cooling song that’s perfect for summer and a new stage as well. Please look forward to it!
We can’t talk about Waterbomb without mentioning your viral Waterbomb Seoul performance last year. How was it like performing at Waterbomb Seoul again this year, and how will you top that in Singapore?
Kwon Eun-bi: It’s such an honour for me. I’ve received so much love through Waterbomb, so I wanted to show everyone a great stage. In Singapore, I’m going to show you a performance that I couldn’t do in Seoul.
What’s one item you always bring with you to every performance that fans might find surprising?
Kwon Eun-bi: I carry around three sunscreens. I pack sunscreen, a sun stick, and a sun spray in my suitcase.
What are some of your favourite memories from previous Waterbomb performances?
Kwon Eun-bi: It was so interesting and fun to perform while spraying water together! Last year was my first time, and I was really nervous, but that’s now a special memory for me.
What’s one unexpected thing you’ve learned about yourself since debuting as a solo artist?
Kwon Eun-bi: I don’t think I’m good at resting. Even on my days off, I’m always moving, but I’m slowly learning how to relax.
What has been the most rewarding part of your solo career so far?
Kwon Eun-bi: I’ve held three solo concerts in total. Having an album, more songs, and being able to hold concerts—it’s something I’m incredibly grateful for.
If you could describe your performance style in three words, what would they be?
Kwon Eun-bi: Passion, communication with fans, and happy virus.
How do you keep your performances fresh and exciting for both yourself and your fans?
Kwon Eun-bi: I think about what kind of story to tell and how to communicate with everyone. Consistent practice is also key to showing a great stage.
What’s a message you’d like to share with your Singapore fans?
Kwon Eun-bi: Singapore fans, it’s been a long time! I’ve missed you so much. I’m coming to Singapore for the first time in a while through Waterbomb 2024. Please look forward to it and give me lots of love. Let’s meet at Waterbomb and have fun together!
What are your plans and goals for the rest of the year beyond Waterbomb Singapore 2024?
Kwon Eun-bi: After Waterbomb, my movie will be released in November. I plan to promote the movie and continue working on music!
