Going through a breakup can easily be listed as one of the toughest things you have to go through in life, especially if you’re the one being dumped. But have you ever looked back and wondered how ridiculous some of the reasons (or shall we say excuses) your partner has ever given to you when he/she was breaking up with you? In this roundup, we asked some of our readers to share the most absurd reasons they were given during a breakup.

“I’m breaking up with you because I need to marry someone with the same surname.”

“Today I want to eat chicken rice, but that doesn’t mean I also wanna eat chicken rice tomorrow.” Basically, he was trying to tell me that just because he’s choosing to be with me today, doesn’t mean he wants to be with me tomorrow.
