Celeb news this week: Blackpink breakup rumours & Lisa’s alleged boyfriend  

A netizen on Weibo claimed that Jennie will be ending her contract with YG Entertainment after the encore concerts for Blackpink’s ‘Born Pink World Tour’. The rumour, while unverified, quickly went viral.

Netizens were quick to point out that this could be the reason for Jennie’s “bad attitude”. She has been criticised for her lacklustre performances in Blackpink’s recent concerts and even left some of them midway. “Her attitude looks like someone who is about to resign from their job,” they said.

That’s not all the rumours swirling about Blackpink’s possible disbandment. Another Weibo user reported that Lisa is still in negotiations with YG Entertainment but intends to leave, while Rosé is confirmed to sign on with The Black Label, a subsidiary of YG Entertainment. The user also said that Jisoo will either continue with YG Entertainment or sign on with The Black Label.

Well, the whole hoo-ha turned out to be a hoax, because the original Weibo user who first posted about the news came out to say that her post was baseless and was for “self-entertainment”.

For what it’s worth, YG Entertainment has yet to release any statements debunking or verifying the news. However, Blackpink’s last concert in their world tour will be on Aug 26 in Los Angeles, so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens next.

Chinese media reported that on-again, off-again couple Nicholas Tse and Faye Wong are allegedly on the outs. According to the report, the breakup was amicable.
However, when approached by Hong Kong media, Nicholas has this to say about the rumours: “Stop messing with us from time to time, OK? Go away.”
