Your lipstick can look better—Here’s Nina Park’s tutorial
Viral on TikTok, the makeup technique works with any lipstick you already own

Repeat after us: you don’t need new makeup to attempt a new makeup look. Perhaps no one demonstrates this more than the hottest makeup artist of the moment, celebrity MUA Nina Park.
Famed for the ethereal yet understated and totally wearable looks sported by A-listers like Greta Lee, Lily-Rose Depp, Kaia Gerber, Addison Rae, Margaret Qualley, and Hailey Bieber, the New York–based artist who grew up in Chicago has broken the internet with her almost monochrome makeup looks.
These looks highlight natural beauty, often featuring artfully smudged eyes, healthy glistening skin (with powder and foundation laid almost imperceptibly), and her signature pillowy, blurred pout that is just slightly overlined—but never overdone.
On TikTok and Instagram, the New York City–based L’école de Maquillage Fleurimon alum frequently updates followers with her recent work. The makeup maven doesn’t gatekeep, showing both the exact products she uses and her “Nina Park” technique—a method that has inspired countless influencers and beauty enthusiasts to recreate their own interpretations.
The Nina Park Lip Method
1. Always dab
Earlier this year, the makeup pro who has assisted industry greats like Peter Philips (currently at Dior Beauty) and Diane Kendal took to TikTok to break down the lip combo used on Lily-Rose Depp.
The Chanel artist often works with Chanel products, starting with a brown-leaning nude liner, Le Crayon Lèvres in Nude Brun, Brun Foncé, before lightly dabbing—not swiping—Le Rouge Duo Ultra Tenue in Merry Rose and Rouge Coco Baume Shine in Blushing Pink. This tapping technique is a key step Nina frequently draws on.
2. Blend out your lipstick with your fingers
You don’t need fancy tools to create a stunning makeup look. In a GRWM video, Nina applied her lipstick as usual, then pursed her lips to spread the pigment. Finally, she uses her fingers to blur the product, achieving that diffused, just-been-kissed pout.
3. Use a Q-tip to smudge it out
The 35-year-old artist often incorporates K-beauty methods, using cult favourites like Clio’s Kil Cover Mesh Glow Essential Cushion and Rom&nd lip stains such as the Dewy-ful Water Tint. A genius hack she uses for blurry lips starts with a stain applied only to the center of the lips. She purses her lips to spread the colour, then re-applies to the middle portion.
Next, a Q-tip is used to blend the lipstick out to the edges. For long-lasting lips, blot any excess with tissue and blend the remaining stain with your fingers. Finally, whatever is left on your fingers can be tapped on your cheeks for that harmonious, signature Nina Park look.
