You won’t need to book a flight to Seoul for your next K-fashion haul. Metro is bringing a slice of Myeongdong — Seoul’s iconic shopping district — to Singapore with the launch of its new Korean fashion edit at Metro Paragon.
Located on Level 3, the new shopping destination brings together an exclusive curation of contemporary South Korean fashion labels under one roof, making it easier than ever to shop the latest trends straight from Seoul. The launch is part of Metro’s partnership with South Korean lifestyle, fashion and cosmetics distributor Shinsegae International.
Whether you’re looking to revamp your closet, hunt for your next unique clothing piece or dress just like your favourite Korean idols, these are the fashion brands worth adding to your cart.
Studio Tomboy
Studio Tomboy is one of South Korea’s most recognisable fashion labels, known for sparking a wave of genderless styled dressing. The contemporary fashion brand is a treasure trove of wardrobe staples. Expect oversized outerwear, relaxed button down shirts, the clothing that blends masculine and feminine elements – think of it as pieces you can happily share with your other half.
Voices of Voices
Celebrated for its modern feminine aesthetic, Voices of Voices is a contemporary women’s fashion brand that offers modern sophistication through practical minimalism and timeless design. Expect effortlessly cool blouses, stylish blazers and an extensive denim collection where you’re guaranteed to find your next favourite pair of jeans.
Our pick
This matching checkered rayon blouse and skirt set is soft, flowy and elegant, ideal for office days when you’re stumped on what to wear. Subtle details on the blouse like the cut-out near the neck and the softly cinched sides make the piece stand out, while the tuck and shirring accents on the skirt sculpt the waist, and its distinctive hemline adds a stylish finishing touch.
JAAH
JAAH is the kind of under-the-radar label you’d gatekeep from your friends. The emerging womenswear brand features a range of stylish day to night pieces with unique silhouettes, mixed with a selection of athleisure inspired clothing. Take a look at their Instagram and you’ll find a myriad of ideas on how to layer their pieces and level up your outfits – a concept JAAH is known to have an exceptional eye for.
Our pick
This soft graphic long sleeve in light burgundy features laser-washed lettering and the relaxed silhouette, perfect as a casual, comfortable top for the airport or to throw over your gym outfit.
Public Beacon
If there’s anyone who knows how to do cool, trendy eyewear, it’s Public Beacon. Their sunglasses and eyeglasses are chic, versatile, made with exceptional quality and flattering for any face shape. It’s little wonder then that the label counts popular K-pop girl group Kiss of Life among its ambassadors.
Our pick: The Gemmy Sunglasses
Every woman needs a pair of warm-toned tortoiseshell sunnies in their eyewear collection. Effortless and sophisticated, the Gemmy sunglasses feature a minimalist square silhouette that’ll lend a retro-luxe edge to any outfit.
Atelier de Lumen
If you see someone carrying an Atelier de Lumen bag – it’s safe to assume, they have taste. One-of-a-kind silhouettes, expertly crafted bags with high quality leathers, carry-alls that don’t scream for attention yet sleek enough to make you do a double take, Lumen does minimalist luxury right. Here, you’ll find everything from a sleek structured workbag, a refined top-handle bag for evenings out, to an adorable, elevated take on the dumpling bag.
Our pick: Fatine bag
The Fatine bag in soft black is the perfect day to night accessory. It features a voluminous yet structured silhouette that’s kept soft and elegant by the careful shirring and soft cow leather. Detach the strap for a top handle dinner-ready accessory or keep it on for an adorable crossbody to elevate your outfit.
“This launch represents more than introducing new brands. It reflects how Metro is evolving into a destination where customers can explore thoughtfully curated concepts inspired by the trends they love,” said Erwin Wuysang-Oei, Chief Executive Officer of Metro Singapore.
Kim Duk Joo, Chief Executive Officer and President of Shinsegae International added: “Fashion is ultimately about inspiring people and enriching everyday life. Through our partnership with Metro, we hope to share the originality, quality and contemporary spirit of Korean fashion with Singaporean customers.”
