Inspiring lessons from women leaders: radiance, resilience & empowerment in leadership 

1-ATICO buzzed with excitement on Thursday (11 September) as Her World invited readers and Tribe members to an exclusive fireside chat with Clé de Peau Beauté, celebrating the launch of the brand’s new boutique at ION Orchard.

The evening offered guests not just a first look at Clé de Peau Beauté’s newest home, but also a rare opportunity to hear from two extraordinary leaders: Ms Yeo Mui Hong, CEO of Orchard Turn Developments, the driving force behind ION Orchard, and Ms Christine Goh, Commercial Senior General Manager at Shiseido Singapore.

Moderated by Her World’s Beauty Editor Letty Seah, the discussion centred on “Unlocking Radiance”, not just the glow of luminous skin, but also the confidence, resilience, and purpose that empower women to shine. Both speakers embodied this theme, weaving in deeply personal reflections from their professional and personal journeys.

For Mui Hong, who has led ION Orchard through its remarkable journey, radiance has always gone beyond appearances. “Radiance to me is not just about looking good externally… it’s about the energy you give out, the way people feel your drive and passion,” she shared. She recalled the stark quiet of Orchard Road during the Circuit Breaker, describing how resilience became the cornerstone of her leadership. “Resilience really is the key. It’s not about ignoring tough situations, but facing them head-on and having the courage to move forward.”

She also reflected on her mother’s quiet perseverance, a personal anchor that continues to shape her leadership today. “Strength doesn’t need to be loud to be impactful,” Mui Hong said, adding that her purpose at ION has always been to create meaningful experiences for the community. “Be it the tenants we bring together, the experiences we create, or the art pieces we showcase, our main objective is really to create moments that spark joy and inspire people.”

Christine echoed the idea that true radiance begins from within. “It’s achievable as long as you are happy and maintain a positive outlook,” she said, explaining how self-care keeps her grounded. “Only when you love yourself well enough are you able to spread that love to a bigger circle around you.”

The conversation also touched on mentorship, confidence, and leadership. Christine recalled advice from a mentor: “There’s never a bad decision as long as you make it, learn from it, and move forward.” For Mui Hong, authenticity and consistency were the foundations of building trust. “Each and every one of my team members is instrumental to ION Orchard’s success.”

Her insights struck a chord with the audience, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into what it takes to steer one of Singapore’s most iconic retail destinations.

When the discussion turned to everyday rituals of radiance, both women shared relatable, human touches. For Mui Hong, it was a quiet walk along Orchard Road or an ice cream treat; for Christine, the simple but steadfast practice of consistent skincare.

The evening closed with Christine’s heartfelt reminder: “Don’t wait for others’ recognition. Start by acknowledging yourself first, and you’ll be able to achieve greater things in life.”

Following the inspiring conversation, guests explored Clé de Peau Beauté’s ION Orchard radiance concept boutique, the brand’s first concept store in Singapore. 

Rooted in the brand’s infinite radiance design philosophy, the refreshed boutique invites guests into an immersive world that marries science-led skincare with luxury service.

The Discovery Zone greets visitors with an inviting showcase of Clé de Peau Beauté’s star products. Here, guests can test and try formulations at leisure, browse skin science insights on interactive product panels, and enjoy thoughtful touches like a bespoke gift-wrapping counter.

Moving deeper into the boutique, the Retreat Zone offers an intimate VIP cabin, a tranquil space where guests can indulge in the brand’s luxurious facials in complete privacy and comfort. 

Exclusive to the ION Orchard boutique are the newly launched Radiant Rejuvenation and Signature Synactif Sculpting Treatments, designed to renew and repair skin.
