Cecilie Bahnsen

1/11

In an industry where the current top three tropes of design are “’80s Sexy”, “Vintage-y”, or “Elevated Streetwear”, Danish designer Cecilie Bahnsen’s preferred look is pretty instead: lace midi dresses, peasant-like smocks, and when she feels like it needs it, is heavy on the ruffles. And despite not churning out trendy pieces or aiming to be the front-and-centre of Copenhagen cool (yes folks, it’s the new Parisian-chic), this hasn’t stopped her brand from ringing the cash registers: her third collection was picked up by Dover Street Market (btw, she has now landed at the Singaporean edition) which was then followed up by Selfridges and Net-A-Porter.

Our favourite pieces though? Well, you can read all about it in our upcoming May issue but if you’re interested in what makes her tick (she likes Diptyque and Glossier just like us), how to dress more like the Scandinavians, and what to do the next time you’re in Copenhagen, click on.
