There has always been a sense of curiosity and wonder about the mysteries of space, even in the fashion sphere. This season’s metallics and sculptural silhouettes mimic a mid-century space-age aesthetic – Paco Rabanne’s Julien Dossena revisited its 1960s Unwearable Collection, which utilised unexpected textiles like thread-linked plastic and metal to create the brand’s iconic chain mail dresses, while Courreges played with full-moon- shaped cut-outs. Over at Simone Rocha, the designer’s mediaeval- inspired gold cloque would fit seamlessly in a sci-fi fantasy flick.
