How did the bow, something that is usually treated as mere decoration explode to become a main character for both the Spring/Summer 2022 and upcoming Fall/Winter 2023 seasons? In our research, we have come across bags sculpted as bows; puffer jackets appliqued with itsy-bitsy bows; dresses plastered with gigantic bows; and even hair decorated with dozen of small bows.

Perhaps it’s due to the adoration for the balletcore and cottagecore aesthetic; people’s natural inclination to all things overtly cutesy after the dismal days of the pandemic. Or perhaps, it’s time we embrace our more feminine side with these symbols of dollish charm and sweet innocence. Whatever stand you take, we show ways you can also incorporate these ribbons into your wardrobe.
