If you’ve been racking your brains for your next hair colour or nail inspiration, look no further than Pinterest’s first-ever beauty-focused trend report. One overarching theme emerged: it’s all in the details.
Rather than simply following popular trends, Pinterest users are seeking personalised takes on them, from cat-eye nails with unexpected finishes to hair colours that blur the line between red and brown, and short bobs with plenty of texture and movement. Ahead, we round up eight of the top beauty trends gaining traction on Pinterest.
1. Chrome nails
Reflective, light-catching manicures are getting a playful update with unexpected details, from polka dots and stripes to bold hues like hot pink and edgy gothic accents. Pinterest’s search data reflects this appetite for contrast, with searches for “polka dot cat eye nails” up 1,585 per cent, “jelly pink chrome nails” up 1,469 per cent, “milky white chrome nails almond” up 1,402 per cent, and “goth cat eye nails” up 911 per cent.
2. Moody hair colours
For those looking to experiment with hair colour without committing to a full head of bleach, rich, warm shades like mocha, espresso, cherry cola and copper are worth considering. Trending searches include “mocha balayage hair” (+949 per cent), “soft copper blonde” (+845 per cent), “cherry cola brunette hair” (+788 per cent) and “oxidised copper hair” (+517 per cent).
3. Pink hair
Pink and teal are making their way into hair looks in playful, personalised ways, from face-framing streaks to peekaboo highlights. Across APAC, searches for “teal and pink hair” have risen by 227 per cent, reflecting growing interest in colourful combinations that feel individual rather than all-over and uniform.
4. Comforting gourmand scents
Sweet, creamy and dessert-inspired fragrances are offering a comforting olfactory escape. Think milky accords and indulgent notes reminiscent of marshmallows and other sweet treats. Across APAC, searches for “marshmallow perfume” have increased by 125 per cent, suggesting that fragrance lovers are gravitating towards scents that feel cosy, familiar and deliciously indulgent.
5. The everything shower
The humble shower is becoming a more elaborate self-care ritual, with routines that go beyond cleansing to encompass head-to-toe pampering. Think scalp scrubs, body washes formulated with ingredients like retinol or glycolic acid, and nourishing lotions and moisturisers.
6. Bodacious bobs
The bob may be a perennial favourite, but this season, it’s all about movement, texture and volume. Rather than sleek, sharply defined cuts, Pinterest users are looking for more relaxed, lived-in interpretations of the classic hairstyle. The trend is particularly pronounced in APAC, where searches for “textured French bob” have risen by 583 per cent and “short layered bob haircuts” by 227 per cent. These cuts offer a fresh take on the timeless bob, with layers and texture that lend the hair a more effortless finish.
7. Soft makeup and romantic cuts
Beauty is entering its softer era, with makeup that enhances rather than masks natural features. Think softly flushed cheeks, understated definition and fresh, skin-like finishes. Searches for “soft natural makeup looks” (+161 per cent) and “natural makeup aesthetic” (+91 per cent) reflect this growing interest in pared-back beauty. Hair is following a similar direction, with softly tousled, windswept butterfly cuts adding movement and a romantic, undone quality to the look.
8. Skin food
Beauty enthusiasts are increasingly exploring ingredient-led rituals, including edible beauty inspiration, homemade remedies and DIY recipes. Searches for “rosemary water for hair” have risen by 313 per cent, while “olive oil for skin” is up 86 per cent.
9. Latte mani
The food-inspired beauty trend extends to nails, with café and dessert-inspired manicures gaining traction. In APAC, searches for “earthy nail inspo” have surged by 874%, while “caramel nude nails” are up 255%, pointing to a growing appetite for warm, coffee-inspired hues.
