Subtle but statement-making

Even before the stars landed on the red carpet of the 30th Star Awards at the Theatre, we expected to see fashion-forward eye makeup, intricate hairstyles and glistening complexions. Needless to say, the A-listers did not disappoint. Ahead, here are some of the best hair and makeup looks from Star Awards 2024.
The “Genie in a Cup” star showed off her edgy take on the coquette trend at this year’s award show, and we are paying attention. Her pin straight strands and saturated “igari” (hangover) blush contrasted perfectly against her high-drama scarlet ribbon earrings.
This “clean girl” look is surprisingly easy to recreate. Run a flat iron through your hair before creating a deep side part à la Hong Ling. Finally, tuck your hair behind your ears and follow up with a spritz of shine enhancing spray for added drama.
The leading lady has returned to her natural hair colour, trading out her chestnut brown hair tresses. Rui En’s kohl-rimmed peepers and bronze, illuminated mien adds a boost of radiance to her glossy raven mane.
You can’t go wrong with a glossy coral pout and expertly applied blush and highlighter especially if teamed with red hot number like Fang Rong’s.
Chantalle’s XXL waist-grazing braids would have been a winner on its own, but her multi-coloured nails and orange-toned makeup really made the look pop. What’s not to like?
Ah Jie took the opportunity to unveil her striking new haircut: wavy, textured lob and eyebrow-grazing bangs. And it wasn’t just her hair that wowed us. The veteran actress completed her iconic look with a flushed complexion and brick red pout. Gorgeous.
Rebecca gave us proof that sometimes less is really more. The new mum teamed her signature lit-from-within glow with a MLBB lip and well-groomed arches.
Here’s another celeb from the evening that got the nude pout memo, Denise turned heads with her winged liner and voluminous ponytail.
The “Super Dad” star channelled old Hollywood glamour with bodacious curls, diffused smokey eye and cherry red lips.
Hot damn! While the scene-stealer here is Ying Ying’s pixie cut, her grey contact lenses and pale pink lip and eye fall not too far behind.
