Since their electrifying win on Street Woman Fighter 2, Team BEBE has become synonymous with power, precision, and passion in the dance world.
This South Korean dance crew – consisting of members Bada, Lusher, Kyma, Tatter, Minah, Cheche, and Sowon – has captivated audiences with their unique blend of fierce choreography and an undeniable team chemistry that’s as much about fun as it is about hard work.
While they were in town for Waterbomb Singapore last weekend, we caught up with the crew to dive into their journey, their behind-the-scenes dynamics, and what fans can look forward to.
Street Woman Fighter 2 was a major milestone for Team BEBE. How did winning that competition change the dynamics within the crew and your approach to dance?
Winning Street Woman Fighter 2 definitely helped put us on the map. We had two main goals going into the competition: first, to let people know about us and show that there’s a team out there that’s cute but also fierce. Second, we wanted to prove that we’re a really strong team when it comes to dance. Of course, with victory came a lot of pressure to live up to the title, but that’s pushed us to work even harder and refine our skills.
In terms of team dynamics, not much has changed – we’re still the same group that’s focused on working hard, supporting each other, and having fun together. Winning didn’t really alter who we are; if anything, it’s just given us more motivation to keep doing what we do best. We take our practices seriously, but we always maintain that family vibe, making the process both efficient and enjoyable. The title is great, but our main focus remains on continuously improving and showcasing our style.
Interesting! In the same vein, who in the group is the biggest perfectionist when it comes to nailing every move, and who’s the best at keeping things light and fun?
That’s an easy one – Bada, our team leader, is the biggest perfectionist. She’s all about the details and takes extra care in crafting and polishing our performances. Her attention to detail makes her the most perfect person in the group when it comes to dance.
As for who keeps the team’s mood light and fun, it’s a bit harder to choose because everyone brings their own humour. But if we had to pick, it’s Kyma. She might seem a bit shy on camera, but within the group, she’s full of energy, always playful and cute, and her little gestures and expressions lift our spirits during practice. Oh, and one more thing – Kyma is always twerking! Seriously, she’ll find any moment to break into a twerk, and it keeps us all laughing.
Team BEBE is known for your powerful performances. What can fans expect from your stage at Waterbomb Singapore?
You can expect our signature strength and precision, as we’ve put in a lot of practice to make sure our moves are perfectly in sync. But this time, we’re also bringing a twist – we’ve prepared a sexy concept with attitude, which is a bit different from what we usually do. It’s something we’re excited to show, and we think fans will love seeing this new side of us at Waterbomb Singapore.
For the last question – if you could do a special collaboration stage at Waterbomb, who would you choose?
We’d love to collaborate with CL. We think our team’s vibe combined with her powerful aura would create something amazing. CL, are you watching?
If we’re dreaming big, though, Beyoncé and Rihanna would be incredible choices too. We even did a global mission with Rihanna before, so having the chance to perform with her again would be a dream come true. It’s all about aiming high!
