Why this wedding planner chose a simple, casual pre-wedding shoot over majestic backdrops

"For our pre-wedding portraits, Roy and I didn’t want to be overpowered by vast, majestic backdrops. Instead, we opted for a casual setting that focused on capturing our personalities and dynamics as a couple.

As a wedding planner myself, I knew from the start the vendors I wanted to work with. Picking the right team, and communicating your ideas across well will ensure that things go smoothly.

It is vital to find a photographer who understands what you want, and is able to translate it into your photos.

We worked with Skyy Woo and she was amazing. We shared with her images of the mood that we wanted to create, and settled on a few scenes that we think would work well. 

For me, natural lighting was also really important. Skyy suggested a beautiful outdoor location and we were blessed with good weather that day.

I also wanted an indoor shoot with a touch of heritage, and Villa Samadhi proved to be the ideal venue with its beautiful architecture and interiors."

HER TIPS & ADVICE

"The most important part of the shoot is to be happy and enjoy it. It really shows in your photos when you have genuine emotions.

Also, it would be good to have a helper to assist you with your gown when you are moving around."
