A Venice-inspired styled wedding shoot with a contemporary twist
Drawing on the romance and historical allure of Venice, this styled shoot blends old world elements with contemporary style that'll inspire modern couples with a love for classic elegance.
By Michelle Lee -
The astonishing beauty and historical of Venice has long had its admirers, and Edna Lee and her fiance Justin are no exception - their engagement took place in Venice, in front of a beautiful church by the waters. Drawing on the pair's love story, this styled shoot weaves the historical Italian city's old world charm with modern elements for a setting that evokes timeless elegance with a soft, romantic quality.
The venue
The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore's newest event space, the floating platform on its pool, set the scene for the shoot's soft and artistic aesthetic. The ceremony aisle was styled with beautiful florals for an "elopement" scene complete with a gondola, inspired by the ones found in the floating city itself.
The details
Beautiful elements that are quintessentially Venetian such as glasswork and lace were also sources of inspiration for the tablescape in the form of the romantic floral centerpieces. (Also read: 13 prettiest reception table decor from real weddings)
These were styled to look natural and organic, with an artistic flair. A variety of beautiful gowns complemented the shoot with luxurious materials that included fine laces, duchesse satin and exquisite beading - reflecting the opulence of Venice but yet with a modern spin.
Several details such as written notes and invitation cards with hand-painted images of the church gave the modern setting a touch of tradition.
