As Singapore prepares to host its first ever Waterbomb festival this weekend (August 24 to 25) at Siloso Beach, all eyes are on the electrifying performances set to take the stage.
Hot off the release of their latest track, Maniac, the members of VIVIZ – SinB, Eunha, and Umji – are thrilled to return to our island. Their last visit was in 2019 with their former group GFriend.
We caught up with the members to discuss their feelings about this water-themed festival, what fans can expect from their performance, and their plans for the rest of the year.
This is your first Waterbomb appearance – how do you feel about performing at Waterbomb Singapore 2024?
VIVIZ: We’re thrilled and excited for our first Waterbomb experience! It’s been a while since we last visited Singapore, and we have such fond memories from our previous trips. We can’t wait to return and make new memories with our fans!
What unique elements can fans expect from your performance at Waterbomb?
VIVIZ: Performing on a stage with water is something truly unique and special, and we think it will offer an experience unlike any other. Expect summer vibes with our outfits and an electrifying stage that you won’t find at typical events!
How do you prepare for a performance in such a dynamic and energetic environment like Waterbomb?
VIVIZ: Preparing for Waterbomb means gearing up for hot weather and high energy. We’re focusing on building our stamina to keep going strong throughout the festival. Additionally, we’re doing strength training to ensure we stay safe and avoid injuries.
What are you most excited about for your Waterbomb performance? What can fans expect from the show?
VIVIZ: We’re excited about the chance to perform in such a unique setting where both we and the audience will get wet. This will create a special energy and fun atmosphere. We’ll also be showcasing a performance that fans can only see on our tour, so stay tuned!
If you could switch roles with any other member for a day, who would it be and why?
Umji: I’d switch with SinB because I’d love to experience the freedom of driving around comfortably, something I’m too scared to do myself.
Eunha: I’d switch with Umji because she seems incredibly productive and I’d like to experience a day as energetic and purposeful as hers.
SinB: I’d switch with Umji because her proficiency in English is so impressive to me.
If you could describe your performance style using only one emoji, what would it be?
VIVIZ: 🌟 – We aim to deliver a performance that will leave you mesmerised by VIVIZ’s charm, capturing the essence of our unique style.
How do you feel your music and performance style has evolved since your debut as VIVIZ?
VIVIZ: We’ve grown more mature and relaxed. Each member has developed vocally and performance-wise, aligning perfectly with VIVIZ’s evolving music style.
Are there any other artists performing at Waterbomb Singapore that you are excited to see or collaborate with?
VIVIZ: We’re excited to see all the artists, but we’re particularly looking forward to Jay Park’s performance!
What are your plans and goals for the rest of the year beyond Waterbomb Singapore 2024
VIVIZ: After Waterbomb, we plan to finish our world tour and start preparing for a new album release.
