Lau Pa Sat just got a little cooler, and it’s not just because of the aircon. Food Folks, tucked inside the iconic hawker landmark in the heart of the CBD, has unveiled an all-new look, with fresh bites, new drinks and a revamped feline mascot, FoFo. The refresh officially launched on 27 October.

As one of the few air-conditioned spots in the busy Lau Pa Sat, the space now feels more intimate (and a little bougie) for locals and tourists alike. Lunch, dinner or supper with company all work here: by day, you can browse local food and finds, and by night, the mood turns social, laid-back and very sip-friendly.

The reimagined food zone is built around that same day-to-night switch. First, there’s a bar-inspired corner with a self-service wine dispenser, so you can pour, sip and sample at your own pace.

Right beside it is a rotating pop-up space where local F&B brands take turns showcasing their exclusive menus through the year. First up is The Local +65, with a platter of cocktails that give familiar Singapore flavours a contemporary twist. Go classic with a Singapore Sling, or keep an eye out for the Lau Pa Sat Signature Cocktail, rolling out soon. And if you’ve got a sweet tooth, you’ll find fresh frozen yoghurt by Nakoko and bubble tea by Whale Tea nearby.

Speaking of sweet tooths, the special collaborations are where things get fun. Food Folks has teamed up with Fossa Chocolate on an exclusive Chendol Chocolate, a clever twist on a beloved Singapore dessert. The snack and dessert shelves are also stocked with local favourites like The Crimson Atelier, ZENKO Superfoods and RÓA Patisserie, which makes allergen-friendly desserts.

And then there’s FoFo, the Singapura cat mascot, who’s stepping out in a brand-new look, and yes, she’s cuter than ever. Her new merch range includes plushie blind boxes, tote bags, magnets, enamel keychains and more. There’s also a customisable keycap keychain bar where you can mix and match designs and make your own souvenir.

And lucky you if your office is nearby, because your lunch break just got a loyalty programme. FoFo’s Paw of Approval Dining Passport takes over from 1 to 30 November. Collect one stamp for every $10 nett spent in a single receipt at Food Folks or Lau Pa Sat, then trade them in for rewards.

Between the sips, the sweet collabs and one very cute cat, FoFo, there’s plenty to keep you coming back.

Food Folks is at Lau Pa Sat, 18 Raffles Quay, and is open daily from 10am to 10pm.
