They used to grace our television screens on Channel 5 and Channel 8 in the 1990s when Mediacorp was still called TCS (Television Corporation of Singapore). They have since left the limelight but if you’re curious what these ladies are up to today (as we are), here’s a little sneak peek into what they are up to currently.

Irin Gan, 52

We all know her as Vicky Tay, the feisty sister in the 90s retro drama Growing Up which ran for six seasons from 1996 to 2002. Since Irin quit showbiz in 2003, she has been pretty low key, focusing on her professional career as a marketing lead in Pharma Consumer Health according to her LinkedIn page. What we do know from her social media is that Irin is quite the adrenaline junkie as she is an avid bike enthusiast (yes, she rides a Harley Davidson) and loves wakeboarding and kitesurfing.

Jamie Yeo, 47

Her acting debut and most famous role was Irin Gan’s younger sister Tammy Tay in the Mediacorp English-language series Growing up. Jamie Yeo was also previously a radio DJ for 12 years with Mediacorp and Power 98 and a football presenter for ESPN Star Sports and Channel NewsAsia. Now out of the spotlight, Jamie and her family has since moved to the United Kingdom where she is thriving as an online entrepreneur for her jewellery brand Lula J Jewelry.

Jazreel Low, 59

Jazreel Low, together with Zoe Tay and Aileen Tan were the top three winners of the inaugural Star Search 1988, and the trio acted in the drama series My Fair Ladies that same year. Jazreel, was runner-up to Zoe Tay who was the winner of the Star Search 1988 but quit acting full-time in 1994. The actress-turned-entrepreneur owns Aramsa Spa and a couple of restaurants including Singapore’s only garden-themed Japanese restaurant with late-night yakitori called ToriYard.

Wong Li-Lin, 52

The former actress who used to be in popular Channel 5 dramas such as Triple Nine and Masters of the Sea, is now the chief executive of Mint Media Sports. Li lin, who was also a former ballerina (she received the prestigious Loke Cheng Kim scholarship to study ballet at Royal Ballet School in the United Kingdom),  also pioneered pilates in Singapore and went to the US to train with the last disciple of pilates, Eve Gentry as well as her prodigee Michele Larson. She used to have a social media account but have since deactivated it. She was spotted in a picture posted by her ex-husband Allan Wu at her son’s graduation from St Joseph Institution (International) last year.

Andrea De Cruz, 51

Before Andrea De Cruz got into show business, she was a psychologist first. She studied Clinical Psychology at St Francisco State University and went on to work at the San Francisco County Jail for a year then joined a private practice as a psychologist at Mount Elizabeth Hospital. After she left showbiz in 2002, she shifted her focus and started her own hair salon Cinq in Scotts Square and in 2021, together with her husband Pierre Png, partnered with Tipsy Collective and opened restaurant and bar Tipsy Flamingo. These days Andrea also keeps herself busy with her women’s health podcast And One Should Know @andwonshouldknow.
