Eager attendees at the last WomenChangemaker event in New York
If you’ve been watching TED Talks on YouTube hoping to pick up some practical life skills – and your goals aren’t materialising, sign up for the WomenChangemakers weekend bootcamp on October 26 and 27 at Raintr33 Hotel Singapore.
But don’t expect auditorium-style sermons. The programmes will be presented in dynamic formats, with Day 2 being in a fun, holistic setting of yoga-and -chat roundtables and storytelling workshops.
The theme: Take a chance. Ladies, take notes, take heed and take inspiration from stories that would be shared by experts on how you can take a leap of faith in life, confront your fears and deal with risks in life.
New connections were made on the spot at the last WomenChangemakers session
The bootcamp will comprise interactive small groups of panel discussion and TED-style talks powered by she1k – a collective that guides and aids corporate women on angel investing globally.
Expect a line-up of 30 speakers and experts, that includes Kathy Park, president of Essilor for ASEAN; Lavinia Thanapathy, co-author of Unleash Your Voice; Ayumi Nakajima, country manager of Southeast Asia for Pinterest; Jacqui Miranda, general manager at Microsoft Corporation; and Foo Siew Ting, regional chief marketing officer of Hewlett Packard Inc.
This is the 11th run of the WomenChangemakers series, which is held in three cities – Singapore, Hong Kong and New York. It’s a platform for corporate women to share their inspiring stories of change, says she1k’s founder of Christina Teo who is behind it.
Christina started the WomenChangemakers series last year to provide a safe space for senior executives to share their personal stories. She tells Her World: “We realised the power of personal storytelling and how it has inspired participants to action and change. Networking at WomanChangemakers isn’t the least intimidating, and many continue to grow their connections beyond the event. Our participants will walk away with practical life tips from the expert breakout sessions.”
While the bootcamp is expecting a majority of women of all ages, men are welcome too.
