Whether you’re navigating a career change, looking after your health, facing a difficult situation or simply looking for extra support, Singapore offers a range of free and heavily subsidised services that many women don’t know exist.

From legal advice and counselling to employment support and wellness programmes, here’s a list worth bookmarking. You never know when you, or someone you care about, might need it.

If you need legal advice but aren’t sure where to start, the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO) runs free legal clinics twice a month. Volunteer lawyers provide consultations on civil and Muslim law matters, helping women better understand their rights and available options.

Women from lower income households may be eligible for legal advice and representation through the Legal Aid Bureau. Assistance is available for a range of civil matters, helping make legal support more accessible to those who need it most.

Pro Bono SG conducts free legal clinics at various community locations and the State Courts. These sessions offer preliminary legal advice and guidance, particularly for those who may not be able to afford private legal services.

Healthier SG Screenings

Regular health screenings can save lives, and under Healthier SG, eligible Singaporeans can receive free or highly subsidised screenings for conditions such as breast, cervical and colorectal cancer. Depending on eligibility, some screenings cost as little as $5.

Breast Cancer Foundation

The Breast Cancer Foundation regularly organises free or subsidised mammogram screening initiatives, alongside educational programmes and support groups for those affected by breast cancer.

AWARE Women’s Helpline

Whether you're experiencing workplace discrimination, relationship abuse or simply need someone to speak to, AWARE's Women's Helpline provides free information, emotional support and referrals to relevant services.

Star Shelter

Operated by SCWO, Star Shelter provides temporary accommodation and practical support for women and children escaping domestic violence, helping them rebuild their lives in a safe environment.

National Anti Violence and Sexual Harassment Helpline

If you’re experiencing abuse or sexual harassment, the National Anti Violence and Sexual Harassment Helpline offers confidential support, safety planning and referrals to appropriate services.

SHECares@SCWO

SHECares is Singapore’s first dedicated support centre for victims of online harms. The service provides free trauma informed counselling, practical guidance and emotional support for women affected by cyber abuse, image based abuse and online harassment.

Care Corner

Care Corner offers free counselling and family support services for individuals facing stress, relationship challenges or personal difficulties. Support is available through its centres and toll free helpline.

Samaritans of Singapore (SOS)

SOS operates a free 24 hour hotline and WhatsApp service for anyone in emotional distress or experiencing suicidal thoughts. The organisation also supports family members and loved ones seeking guidance.

Family Service Centres

Located across Singapore, Family Service Centres provide free counselling, case management and referrals for issues ranging from family conflict and caregiving stress to financial difficulties and emotional wellbeing. They are often the first point of contact for anyone unsure where to seek help.

Daughters Of Tomorrow

Daughters Of Tomorrow supports women from lower income families through career coaching, job matching, training opportunities and childminding support, making it easier to return to the workforce.

Mums@Work Singapore

Looking to re enter the workforce after taking a career break? Mums@Work connects mothers with flexible job opportunities while offering career guidance, networking sessions and employability workshops.

Aidha

Aidha empowers migrant domestic workers and lower income women through free financial literacy, digital skills and entrepreneurship programmes designed to build long term financial independence.

HOME Singapore

HOME (Humanitarian Organization for Migration Economics) provides legal assistance, shelter, counselling and advocacy for migrant domestic workers facing abuse, exploitation or employment disputes.

PPIS

PPIS offers a wide range of family support services, counselling, financial assistance programmes and community initiatives for women and families, particularly those facing financial or social challenges.

Caritas Singapore

Through its network of member organisations, Caritas Singapore provides practical assistance, counselling and social support for women and families experiencing financial hardship or other life challenges.

WINGS

The Women’s Initiative for Ageing Successfully helps women aged 40 and above stay socially connected through workshops, financial literacy programmes, health talks and active ageing activities.
