The pandemic has taught us many valuable lessons while we were on lockdown. Some of these include prioritising our mental health, adapting to new working environments, and the list goes on. But if there’s one change that we noticed after the lockdown, it’s that more of us are focused on improving our physical health, especially to combat the negative effects of a sedentary lifestyle.
Many started running as a hobby, while others took on different fitness challenges to add some spice to their routine. With more time on their hands, people have chosen to dedicate themselves to fitness-related goals such as improving strength, and endurance, or achieving weight loss targets. And by setting and working towards these goals, it provides a sense of purpose, motivation, and accomplishment during challenging times.
While we have shifted into a post-pandemic world, there are still many who are sticking to their active lifestyles. And if a new challenge is what you’re looking for this year, then we’ve got you covered. From the iconic Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon to the highly anticipated Under Armour Combine competition, there are loads of events that you can take part in this year to push yourself beyond your limits.
Under Armour Combine is back this year and it is said to be bigger and better than ever. Held at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre, the fitness competition will be happening on October 21, and will see a total of eight physical and mental tests, devised by Under Armour‘s Global Head of Athlete Performance, Michael Watts, with each test challenging the athlete’s agility, stamina, vertical, power, endurance, strength, speed, and cognition.
Some of the tests you can expect to compete in include an Agility Star Drill, Pull-up Beep Test, Vertical Jump Test, 20m Sled Push, 20m Beep Test, 3RM Bench Press, 40 Yard Dash, and a Reactive Intelligence Wall.
