I Tried The ACUVUE® VITA® Contact Lenses And WOW

When I saw that ACUVUE® had launched its first-ever monthly contact lenses (which is also suitable for those with astigmatism!), my interest was piqued. As someone with eyes drier than her love life, I dreaded wearing contact lenses. But since the ACUVUE® VITA® contact lenses claim to be more comfortable than any other leading monthly contact lenses, I decided to give them a go. Here’s my full review after weeks of wear.

The most comfortable contact lens I’ve tried so far

My relationship with contact lenses goes way back to a few years ago, as I bought my first pair of monthly contact lenses when I was studying in polytechnic. I remember wearing them to school only during the first half of the week and then ditching them entirely later in the week because they were so uncomfortable and my vision was always blurry. Because of that, I didn't wear them to school unless I had events to attend and I wanted to look presentable, or when I was working out as it is more convenient with contact lenses on.

Given how I didn’t exactly have a favourable experience wearing monthly contact lenses, I was initially skeptical about ACUVUE® VITA® monthly contact lenses. However, when I first tried them on, I instantly noticed how comfortable the fit was. During my first week of wearing them, I was pleasantly surprised to find that my vision was still sharp and clear throughout the entire day. I feel that my vision has been transformed and I could study for hours with no discomfort, so that’s definitely a plus point!

I had a comprehensive eye check and contact lens fitting at Premium Eyecare at Funan Mall. The optometrist told me that the curvature for my right eye lens was higher than my left lens, which affects how the lens will sit on my eye. From this experience, I’ve learned that it’s so important to have a proper contact lens fitting with a qualified optometrist so that I can have a professional recommend the most suitable contact lens for my eyes. You definitely shouldn't be purchasing contact lenses online.

I have always worn contact lenses from other brands – but only when I’m doing physical sports or if I have a function to attend, as my eyes can get really dry by the end of the day. But when I was wearing these ACUVUE®VITA® monthly contact lenses, I would sometimes forget that I was even wearing them! Thanks to its HydraMax™ Technology these contact lenses were not drying to my eyes and I was able to have clear and comfortable vision all day. I started wearing contact lenses 10 years ago, but at that time, I only wore them for important occasions. I then switched to wearing monthlies from other brands when I started university.
