#1 Up, up and away

You'll be running from place to place in the heat. While long wavy tresses look effortless, they can leave you hot and bothered in the humid climate. "Get your hair stylist to recommend an updo (we love these casual Meghan Markle-esque updos) that suits you and stays in place."

Percy & Reed Beyond the Beach Texture Spray 125ml, $30, from Sephora.

#2  Spray it on

Prep your locks with a sea salt or texturising spray, especially if you're after a textured style or beach-worthy waves. "Blow dry after spritzing and your hair will instantly look more voluminous, textured, and keeps in place for a longer time."

#3 Start matte

"I usually start with a semi-matte, water-proof and water-resistant makeup. As the day goes on, the humidity, coupled with body heat and oils, will give your complexion a shine as well."

Cover FX Power Play Foundation, $68, available in 40 shades, from Sephora.

#4 Make it stay

"Another trick I usually employ: A tinted base, a highly-pigmented and long-lasting foundation, and water-proof concealer, followed by a lightweight powder. This gives good coverage to take you through the day without looking like you have tons of makeup on."

#5 Eye do

If you're a frequent wearer of falsies, you might have experienced them falling off in the middle of the day. That's the last thing you want to worry about when you've got a million and one other things happening! "I would advise brides to go for eyelash extensions instead. Of course, go to a salon with a good reputation and get natural-looking ones. That way, you get beautiful lashes without the hassle."
