1. They will help take off some of the stress
As if it’s not stressful enough trying to come to terms with how much money you’re potentially going to spend, all the little details like choosing your colours, getting RSVPs, managing vendors (especially if they’re taking too long to reply you), may get too much after a while.

2. You’ll need a day-of coordinator at least
Even if you’re mostly a DIY bride, you’ll still need someone to help handle queries or mishaps that may happen on your big day. It’s your day, and you’ll want to enjoy it as much as possible, and not have to worry about any vendors, or loved ones peppering you with questions you may not want to answer.

3. They’ll know which vendors to approach, who’s trustworthy and provides quality work, and who doesn’t
If your wedding planner’s been around, she’ll know which vendors works best for what, and for the amount of money you’re willing to spend on each aspect. Also, she may be able to help score special perks or discounts with venues and vendors – something you won’t be able to do without her help.

4. She’ll help manage your budget better
It’s easy to get carried away, even if you’ve got a budget in mind. Excuses like “it’s a once-in-a-lifetime event” or “a few more dollars won’t hurt”, or “it’s so pretty, I have to have this”, aren’t uncommon, and they’ll definitely add up to your total. Having an objective party around will help prevent any overspending from happening.

5. They’ll help fend off (sometimes) unwanted questions
We got this tip from DJ Jiahui, who mentioned this in our interview in October 2015. Her planner said that “her parents will pepper her with a lot of questions, especially with the details, which leads to unnecessary stress. It’s something you can let us handle.”

6. You don’t want to forget anything on your checklist
Wedding checklists are long – from the bridal gown to the guest list, venue confirmation date, and so on. A planner should know most of these things at the back of her hand, and may be less likely to forget things like paying the bills (before or after the wedding), returning rentals, and so on.

7. Help with the decorations
If you’re thinking of a more elaborate wedding theme, your planner will help (and have the resources) to make your dream a reality.
