Anyone with good skin will tell you that achieving a great complexion isn’t just about using skincare products, it’s about eating clean and learning not to stress out. Here are five things you can do:

1. Understand your skin’s need for cleansing and moisturising
The two basic steps of skincare are highly important for maintaining good skin.

Firstly, figure out your skin’s type. Dry skin? Cleanse once a day. Oily skin? Perhaps twice a day. But of course, this depends on you. Consider investing in a cleansing brush like the Clarisonic to help you.

Make it a point to moisturise your skin at least once a day and don’t forget to moisturise under eyes too.

2. Slap on sun protection
Sunscreen protects against the signs of aging and prevent skin cancer too. The best part is, there are plenty of different sunscreen types for you to choose from. Whether it’s oil-free, lightweight or non-comedogenic, there are plenty of sunscreen variations to fit your skin types.

There are also spay-on types for hands free application.

3. Drink water
Water helps to cleanse your body and purge it of toxins. Your skin will also look less dull. Drinking plenty of water also helps you lose weight!

4. Don’t touch your face with dirty hands
Our hands carry plenty of bacteria and germs and when you touch your face, you’re giving these germs a chance to thrive.

Touching your face constantly could end up giving you more pimples and blemishes.

5. Clean make up off thoroughly
Wearing makeup for extended periods of time can clog the pores of your skin, causing pimples, blemishes and acne to form.

Make it a point to clean the makeup off before sleeping.
