Red rose petals served as confetti and made for pretty pictures.

“It was our dream wedding: We had a sunset ceremony at the Four Seasons Resort Bali’s Jimbaran Garden that overlooks the beach.

grace matthew5.jpgThe bride and groom, who dated for three years, looked stunning at their beachside reception.

Our reception was by the resort’s infinity pool, which faces the sea. Candles, tall white floral centrepieces with gold stands and hanging crystals adorned the area. A live band played soothing music and a close friend was the emcee. Guests tied tags with their wishes to a tree or wrote them on LED balloons they released into the night sky. The magical celebration ended perfectly, with a Balinese fire dance and a beautiful full moon.

Guests presented their wishes to the couple on tags tied to a tree or on LED balloons released into the night sky.

At the end of the day, guests told us they enjoyed themselves tremendously. We were also really thankful that the weather held up.

My tip: If you’re planning an outdoor wedding, Bali usually has wonderful year-round weather. Favourite times for ceremonies are usually around 10am or 5.30pm (just in time to catch the setting sun). However, it helps to have a plan B in case it rains.”
