PIN-UP PERFECT
image
Hello Bettie Page! The American model was famous for her pin-up photos with jet black hair, blunt bangs and soft, flowing waves.
The makeup: Wing-tip liner was as big then as it is now. Using black liquid liner, gently drag the very thin brush along the lash line from the top inner corner towards the outer corner and extend it upwards. Then create a sensuous pout.

CLASSIC '60S

Singers like Dusty Springfield, with her signature panda eyes, made headlines with the beehive bun. To start, tease hair to create a knotted effect and lightly comb over it to smooth down the effect before twisting the back into a chignon.
The makeup: Go for a fresh, dewy complexion and dramatically lined eyes with smoky lids, voluminous lashes and a nude lip.
Boat neck gown, $2,600 to rent or $2,800 to buy, from DI GIO BRIDAL. Hairband, $17, from LOVISA. Earrings, $79, from CHOMEL.

ANGEL CONNECTION

Recreate the luscious, windswept waves of ’70s Charlie’s Angels star Jaclyn Smith with a twist. To style, mist dry hair and wrap 1.6cm sections around a wide-barrel curling iron in spiral formation. Then side-part instead of parting your hair in the middle and finger-style the curls rather than brushing them out. Finish with hairspray.
The makeup: For a glam evening, create smoky eyes with shimmery eyeshadow, liner and mascara before finishing with contoured cheeks and glossy lips.
Satin gown, $1,200 to rent or $4,200 to buy, from MY DREAM WEDDING. Diamante earrings, $26, from LOVISA.
