From The Straits Times    |

“We had decided not to have a pre-wedding shoot at the onset of our wedding prep as we couldn’t find a wedding photographer that we liked. This was until our friend introduced us to Sanren Studio – a photography studio based in Batu Pahat, a small town up north of Johor Bahru.

Batu Pahat itself is a quaint town with plenty of old shops lined along the streets and has lots of vintage charm. While Sanren offered us the choice to do the shoot in Singapore or Johor Bahru, we ultimately decided to have our shoot at Batu Pahat even though it was further away.

Preparation wise, we planned outfits that we thought would suit the vintage feel of the place. Rayson Lo, our photographer, decided on the specific concepts and locations since we knew very little about the town.

I cannot stress enough how grateful I am that Rayson turned out to be someone both of us were very comfortable around.

There were a lot of laughter during the shoot, and as there was no fixed schedule or location, it did not feel like we had to rush through a checklist. The whole experience was very relaxing and exploratory.

The weather was rather gloomy throughout the day of our shoot as it rained in the morning and Rayson was kind enough to suggest that we shoot again on another day.

However, seeing that we had already made our way to Batu Pahat, Bengtatt and I decided to go ahead with the shoot. The pictures turned out lovely nonetheless!”
