Our congratulations to One FM DJ Melody Chen, 40 and her husband, actor Randall Tan, 42.
The newly minted parents announced on Saturday, November 4th the birth of their twin babies – Reuben Michael and Maegan Riley. According to their social media accounts, the twins were both prematurely several weeks ago.
Chen shared that the birth experience was “a harrowing start to [their] parenthood journey, from the emergency C-section to the constant worry about their survival.”
She also thanked both the medical teams from Mount Elizabeth Hospital, where she had the C-section, and Singapore General Hospital’s NICU team where she was later transferred to.
“Thank God for the swift medical team at Mount Elizabeth Hospital as well as all the amazing and dedicated angels at SGH’s NICU ward, the twins are finally now stable and slowly progressing day by day,” Chen shared.
The new dad also took to sharing his excitement and love for his family on his Instagram on the birth of his twins: “After some real drama, Mel and I are really proud to announce that we are officially a family of four.”
“These two bundles of joy decided to give daddy a heart attack when they decided that enough is enough and come out to meet everyone. So now, instead of just one to love, I now have three! Mel and I cannot wait to bring them home soon!” he adds.
The celebrity couple got married nine years ago, and had tried for a baby since. In 2012, Chen suffered a miscarriage and a failed in-vitro fertilisation attempt.
Their twin babies were conceived naturally.
Congratulations to the new family!
