Meghan Markle has revealed something unexpected about her wedding gown!
In a new HBO documentary about Queen Elizabeth II's role on the global stage as well as insights into the British Royal Family, Queen of the World, the Duchess of Sussex spoke about her custom Givenchy gown, revealing a secret addition to the elegant design: A "something blue" stitched to it.
And it's none other than a piece of fabric from the dress she wore on her first date with Prince Harry. Awwwww.

Speaking to Royal Collection Exhibitions co-ordinator Hannah Belcher, she said, " Somewhere in here, there’s a piece of… did you see it? The piece of blue fabric that’s stitched inside? It was my ‘something blue’ It’s fabric from the dress that I wore on our first date.”
The former American-born actress had first met the now Duke of Sussex on a blind date reportedly set up by mutual friend Violet von Westenholz back in 2016. And while she expressed her keenness on sticking to the tradition of having"something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue", it is not known which were the items that were "something new, old or borrowed".
During the interview, her first official one as a royal, the Duchess also spoke about her spectacular veil, which was intricately embroidered with a flower from each of the 53 countries of the Commonwealth. After the wedding, Markle had joined her husband as a Commonwealth Youth Ambassador. Beyond being an emblem of the Commonwealth, it's also a tribute to the Queen, and is remarkably evocative of Her Majesty's Coronation gown in 1953.

A voiceover also pointed out, "Few will have been more touched to see [the veil] than the queen herself, for this was a poignant echo of the gown she wore on her coronation day."
Said Meghan, "It was important for me, especially now being a part of the Royal Family, to have all 53 of the Commonwealth countries incorporated, and I knew that it would be a fun surprise as well for my now husband, who didn't know, and he was really over the moon to find out that I would make this choice for our day together."
“I think the other members of the family had a similar reaction, so, yeah, it was good news all around, I think. I hope people liked it as much as I liked helping to create it.”
The documentary Queen of the World debuts October 1 on HBO.
