SINGAPORE - Pop star Justin Bieber proposed to US girlfriend Hailey Baldwin on Saturday (Jul 7), reports TMZ.
According to the celebrity news site, eyewitnesses at a Bahamas resort said that the 24-year-old Canadian singer popped the question in front of all present at a restaurant there. Earlier, the security staff had asked them to put away their phones away as " something special was about to happen".
Baldwin, 21, is a model and the daughter of Stephen Baldwin. She and Bieber rekindled their romance about a month ago and had previously been in a relationship in 2016.
Bieber split with former lover and fellow pop singer Selena Gomez in March, while Baldwin had been linked to singer Shawn Mendes when they appeared at the Met Gala together earlier this year.
His father, Jeremy, seemingly confirmed the engagement with an Instagram post featuring a picture of his son with the caption "@justinbieber proud is an understatement! Excited for the next chapter!" His mother, Pattie Mallette, tweeted "Love Love Love Love Love Love Love." on the same night of the engagement.
