Hong Kong actors Tavia Yeung and Him Law will reportedly wed next March in Thailand, after being romantically linked since 2012.

According to My Paper, so eager is 36-year-old Yeung to marry Law, 31, that she is willing to forgo the traditional wedding dowry and is even prepared to pay for the banquet herself.

Sources say the couple plan to wed on one of the popular Thai resort islands of Phuket or Koh Samui, as a beachside location is favoured by sun-loving Law.

As one of Hong Kong TV station TVB’s leading ladies, Yeung’s popularity and presumably higher earning power far outweighs her younger beau, who has mostly been relegated to supporting roles on television and film.

The report added that although Yeung’s mother had hoped to see her daughter married off well, she understands Law’s financial constraints and waived the dowry requirement and is prepared for a scaled-down wedding do.

Law may even move in with Yeung’s family after the wedding, the report continued.

However, Law managed to worm his way into his future mother-in-law’s good books by proposing on bended knee in front of her, presenting Yeung with a diamond ring and flowers.

He has also promised to work hard at baby-making after their wedding, so Yeung would not have to go through a high-risk pregnancy due to her age.
