First impressions

We met in the course of work, and things continued from there! He claims we actually met briefly a year prior to our “first” meeting, but I just can’t recall that incident. We have been together for almost two years now.

The right timing

We were both looking to settle down when we met, and the chemistry was right, so one thing led to another.

Pragmatic priorities

We aren’t that romantic and won’t go the extra mile to create romantic events; we’re actually contented with just enjoying our moments together and experiences together without any fuss.

For the wedding, we’ll try to personalise the celebrations as much as possible without incurring unnecessary costs. He’s always remind me that the most important thing is that the wedding is ours.

Love and laughter

He is very filial and cares deeply for his family as well as mine, which I appreciate and find touching. he cracks me up with his humorous nonsense and is willing to do silly stuff with me, and for me.

Best Valentine’s Day ever!

I was down with chicken pox and was stuck at home on the eve of our first Valentine’s date. On the day itself, he had flowers delivered to my house and bought a takeaway to have dinner at my home with me. He came over every single day for the rest of the week that I was on medical leave to make sure I was well fed and taken care of.

Surprise!

Once, I ordered a few tailored shirts for him and hid it in a bag at his place. After he sent me home, I sent him a video of me revealing where his gift was hidden. It took him by surprise!

A top-of-the-world proposal

We had just finished an exhausting two-hour hike up Franz Josef Glacier in New Zealand. (See: 7 fun activities to add to your New Zealand honeymoon) While we were waiting for our transport for the return journey, he tapped me on the shoulder and brought out the ring. My “yes” was immediate, and I just burst into laughter! I don’t think I’ll ever forget that moment. He really succeeded in catching me off guard! Later on, I kept thinking: What if he had lost the ring? It was quite a risk for him to bring the ring along on the trip and hike all around the icy glacier while taking care of clumsy me!

Vintage glam

We’re working towards a classy vintage vibe with colours like matte gold, champagne cream and deep lush green for the wedding. Hopefully, the result will be something beautiful and classic, not something seasonal that we will look back on years later and cringe over!

Communication and intimacy

Communication bridges understanding and empathy. There will always be issues, but constant communication provides reassurance. And of course, our intimacy and affection will express how much we mean to each other.
