How did you meet?

We met in junior college 10 years ago and started dating when we were 18. It’s rather cheesy, but I knew John was the one as I watched him carrying his niece a few years back. We were singing hymns during a Christmas Eve mass, and she fell asleep in his arms!

What was your proposal like?

John proposed to me during our trip to South Korea with the most gorgeous ring I have ever seen – an emerald-cut diamond with halo and dual pave diamonds on an elegant rose gold band.

Share with us your wedding theme and celebration!

Instead of getting caught up in traditional details, we focused on what meant the most to us. For instance, my beautiful engagement ring inspired us to go with a romantic and classy rose gold theme.

Our big day began with a church wedding and lunch, followed by the tea ceremony, then a fun-filled banquet at the elegant Four Seasons Ballroom.

The couple designed their own wedding invitation and wax seal.

“My ballgown made me truly feel like a bride, and it was a definite “yes to the dress” moment when I tried it on.”

“I felt so nervous until I saw John waiting to receive me at the altar.”

“To align with our colour theme, we had a two-tiered rose ombre buttercream cake for our church reception.”

Guests enjoyed a martini ice bar and a Peking duck station at the cocktail reception.

What were some of the highlights?

For our banquet, we had a live jazz band, which created the perfect atmosphere. My father-in-law played the saxophone. Hilariously, my friends took to the dance floor alongside my dad.

I also prepared a K-pop dance performance for John with my bridesmaids. Many guests told us it was one of the most enjoyable weddings they’d attended.

Cheryl dressed her bridesmaids in pink and rose gold dresses from The Thread Theory.

Any wedding planning tips?

There’s no such thing as a perfect wedding. What matters is how you make it perfectly yours.
