"We were friends before lovers. As we work in the same industry, we often crossed paths, and caught up over coffee as his office was near mine. He loves coffee as much as I do. We also share other interests such as travel, books on literary realism, collecting antiques and old posters, and cats! But things didn’t get romantic until one magical night after dinner at Au Jardin. It suddenly dawned on us that there was more between us than just friendship. We began dating soon afterwards."
"We were in Napa Valley in the US when Robert proposed in a Calistoga wine orchard rather late at night, and under the warm glow of fairy lights. It was nothing fancy, but we celebrated with a bottleof wine and talked endlessly about our future together. We also kept the news to ourselves for a while, so we could spend more time together instead of taking calls from excited relatives and friends! We chose Banyan Tree Ungasan’s Ju-Ma-Na Restaurant & Bar in Bali for our nuptials."
"The colour scheme comprised rose gold, blush, and a mix of earthy as well as soft hues. I loved that it went with the natural landscape, the glorious sunset and even my gown. The first was a traditional Western sunset ceremony where we exchanged vows on a high cliff (70m!) perched over the Indian Ocean. Then came the Balinese blessing with the ringing of a bell to announceour marriage."
"I was so worried I’d trip down the aisle. The path to the altar was curvy with steps, and I didn’t want to embarrass my future husband. But when our eyes met, I felt like I was in paradise with him and that gave me confidence. Exchanging vows in front of family and friends, cliffside fireworks during the reception, the music, dancing, food, and the people... It was an exhilarating time. Plus, the chef and his team at Ju-Ma-Na outdid themselves. We were so thankful. I don’t remember every single word said during the ceremony because we were so into the moment and overcome with joy. "
"The atmosphere was magical and beautiful. If I could do it all over again, I would have liked to have more time at the Banyan Tree because it is truly spectacular."
