When two creative and fun personalities come together to throw a celebration, you know it's going to be a fabulous affair filled with plenty of good times and dancing!

Their church solemnisation was followed by a lunch reception in the day before the dinner banquet at W hotel and after-party at The East Bureau.

"We met at a dance studio nine years ago and became friends while preparing for a performance together. We started dating soon afterwards.

Marcus popped the question after we’d been together for seven years, and while we were presenting a dance to a client.

After our final pose, Marcus tugged my hand from behind. I turned around to find him on bended knee and holding up a ring box.

For that brief moment, it felt like we were the only ones in the room. The proposal was just how I’d wanted it to be," said Rachel.

"The wedding was about us. But it was also for everyone else present."

"Our wedding was like a big party, and we enjoyed catching up with everyone.

Our main colours were navy, blush and heather grey. We also had pops of other hues and quirky details.

And we gave away bags of popcorn after the church ceremony to thank guests for “popping” by!"

A rose-gold photo stand gussied up with foligage displayed their photos that showed the highlights and memories accumulated over the length of their nine year relationship.

“We’ve been together for such a long time. Yet, when I saw Marcus waiting for me at the altar, it was like I was seeing him in a totally different light.”

Their wedding car (and top notch photo prop!) came in the form of a retro Volkswagon beetle which complemented their wedding theme perfectly.

Rachel and Marcus decided on a mix of long and round banquet tables for their dinner banquet at W hotel.

"I had the best time with my family, who helped with all the arrangements for our special day. Everyone’s wedding is different. What we had was perfect for us," shares Rachel.

"Our after-party took place at The East Bureau. We pushed back the tables and chairs so our friends could get down and bust a move!

There were also a couple of impromptu dance and singing performances. Everything felt so silly and fun."
