yina1_0.jpgYina and Jerry met at a music cafe eight years ago, where her classmates were taking part in a singing competition organised by the cafe. Jerry was the cafe manager at the time. He was her first boyfriend – and last.

Yina’s bouquet included her favourite peonies and David Austin roses. Jerry’s boutonniere reflected the same colours.

Yina Goh, 28 and Jerry Peh, 32, had a relaxed celebration with a vintage, floral and pastel theme. She tells us:

A heartwarming moment with her parents before the gatecrashing.

A girlie moment with her bridesmaids.

“He proposed on my birthday – and in the middle of a gig at Switch by Timbre. I was standing in for one of the lead singers of Groundzero. With the help of my friends and the band, he proposed with a fake ring. The real engagement ring, made by Jannpaul, wasn’t ready.

yina6.jpgThe wedding theme, with all things vintage, floral and pastel, was everywhere.

yina14.jpg“After the wedding, I was deliriously happy, and relieved everything worked out so well,” says Yina.

Everyone was loud and jovial. We had the gatecrashing and solemnisation in the morning and the banquet at night. I wanted and got a vintage celebration with floral and pastel elements reflected in my cake, bouquet, wedding outfits and decorations.

yina9.jpgThe vanilla cake with buttercream frosting and real petals. Only the top two tiers were real.

Everything was so surreal, I had to hold back my tears many times. But it was a very happy day for the both of us. The most memorable bit was our first entrance into the banquet. We were greeted by so many happy and excited guests that we felt very loved. And when we were doing the yum seng, my bridesmaids let out an ear-splitting war cry. I laughed so hard, I cried!

When it was over, I was so happy to be married. But if I could relive the day, I would have thanked my parents a little more during my speech. They deserved more credit for bringing me up as well.”
