The couple, met through work and started out as friends. They moved to Singapore after dating for three years, and then tied the knot three years after that.
“Since moving to Singapore, we only get to see our loved ones once a year. We chose Saranac Lake, New York, as Cory’s familiy has a holiday home there and we wanted a wedding with our closest family and friends in that special place.
The reception, which was held at Camp Canaras, had an Adirondack elegance about it, and felt like a glamorous summer camp, said the bride.
“The day before Cory proposed, I actually dreamt he would. He popped the question over dinner and drinks. It was very sweet,” says Katrina.
One of the highlights for me was seeing the look on Cory’s face when I surprised him with a live band. We also got to see family and friends tear up the dance floor – a side of them we hadn’t seen before. That probably wouldn’t have happened if we’d just had a DJ.
The wedding ceremony took place on Chapel Island in the middle of Upper Saranac Lake.
Cutting into a spice-flavoured pumpkin wedding cake with buttercream frosting and caramel filling. It was topped with six Austrian figurines, a gift to Katrina from Cory’s grandmother.
The fabulous evening ended with a beautiful sparkler exit for Cory and Katrina.
I wish we had hired a videographer too. Our photographer was fantastic, but there were so many priceless moments like our vows and speeches we could have recorded.”
