The couple’s colour theme of peach and white worked beautifully.
“Our solemnisation took place at the sky lounge of our new home. The weather was perfect, and it meant a lot to us to be married in the place where we will begin our journey as husband and wife.
DIY touches like the cupcake stand, interactive guestbook and the feature wall made this a cosy and personal wedding.
I was actually nervous before the march-in – I was hoping I wouldn’t trip on the red carpet! Otherwise, the mood was pretty relaxed and everyone really enjoyed themselves.
There were many personal touches: I did most of the decorations, invitations and wedding programmes, with some help from my family and close friends. I loved that it all looked elegant and posh without costing too much, and I was particularly proud that I did it all without the help of a wedding planner!
Our tips: We saved a lot by going DIY, but we also saved on other issues like booking the venue over a year in advance, getting the flowers and the wine from wholesalers, and the cupcakes with a Groupon offer!”
