How did you meet?

We first met nine years ago over a dim sum supper in Geylang with a bunch of friends, one of whom was a mutual friend of ours.

What was your proposal like?

Jeffrey proposed to me on a yacht in front of our family and friends. Fireworks from Sentosa went off right after I said yes.

It was a magical moment that was perfectly timed by Jeffrey. We then set off for Lazarus Island to celebrate our engagement.

Share with us your wedding theme and celebration!

For our wedding, we wanted it to be classy and also timeless, so we went with soft romantic colours for our solemnisation and lunch, and a luxe and elegant theme for our banquet.

I was really pleased with our florist CC Lee Designs, who decked out the stunning John Jacob Ballroom with a profusion of peonies and hydrangeas – both of which are my favourite flowers.

It felt grand yet romantic.

“I was overwhelmed with emotion as my dad walked me down the aisle.”

“The mirrored panels and high ceiling of the ballroom created a magical atmosphere.”

How did you decide on your gowns?

I wanted a mermaid dress with a beautiful tail for my solemnisation, and I fell in love with the details of my Berta wedding gown the moment I saw it. It fitted me like a glove.

For my banquet, I chose an elaborate ballgown by Julia Sposa from Jakarta.

What were some of the highlights?

We feel that one of the biggest but most overlooked moments of the wedding day is the entrance into the wedding reception.

It is a couple’s first official entrance as man and wife so we felt that it should be done right. It turned out to be one of the most memorable part for ourselves and our guests.

For our first march-in, we felt it should be a spectacle, so large confetti canons were handed out to our guests and they had the thrill of creating a confetti rain along our entire march-in course, from the moment the doors of the ballroom opened, right up to the point where we went up the stage.

As for the second entrance, we wanted to jazz up the atmosphere and bring some fun and playfulness to the sit-down banquet.

Hence, we prepared champagne bottles with flare candles, and with an upbeat song, our six groomsmen led our march-in by grooving in with a champagne train.

How did you feel after the wedding?

We would love to do it all over again, even though it was tiring. Time went by in a flash that day. It was a huge relief when nothing major went wrong. Always start your wedding planning early!
