When it comes to bridal fashion, we say rules are meant to be broken. And break the rules Emma Leth did for her nuptials. The Danish actress, model and It girl got married to artist Tal Rosenzweig in an outdoor ceremony in Paris, and her apparent motto for wedding accessorising? Go big or go home.

While many other brides would go for pretty headpieces, crystal clips or fascinators, Leth opted for one of French brand Jacquemus’ signature dramatic extra-extra-large hats to top her bridal ensemble.

Leth told Vogue, “Getting married is a deeply private thing that you do in front of a lot of people. This is why I needed a hat that combined the feeling of hiding and generosity at the same time.”

The supersized straw hat wasn’t the only eyebrow-raising item the 27-year-old bride wore – her wedding dress of choice was a see-through lace piece that showed her lilac undergarments (See these 5 things to note when buying your bridal undergarments). She paired this with polka-dotted shoes and a pretty clutch of blooms, which we must say gave her look a quirky and carefree charm.

And while her groom opted for a more conventional pinstriped suit, he gave it a twist and topped it with a baseball cap.
