“Patrick asked my parents’ permission for my hand in marriage. He then surprised me with a romantic proposal at home.” – Elsa PHOTOS: HER WORLD BRIDES SEPT 2015
“We did everything in a day – the gatecrashing and tea ceremonies in the morning, followed by a photo shoot with the bridal party, and then the solemnisation and dinner at Alkaff Mansion Ristorante, which were just perfect. The colonial-style building was ideal for the warm and intimate celebration we envisioned.
After exchanging vows in front of family and close friends, we sat down to a European-style meal complete with long tables, chandeliers, candles, and Italian food.
Elsa walked down the aisle with her older brother.
For Patrick, the solemnisation ceremony was totally surreal – he felt like he was watching himself in a movie! As for me, his parents surprised us with heart-shaped balloons to release after the ceremony. Later, his extended family made us cut a heart-shaped “door” onstage, which he had to carry me through. It was all so magical.”
The couple directed guests to the ceremony venue with fun signs.
The wedding cake was a delicious three-tiered lychee martini, mango-passionfruit and blackforest cake with buttercream frosting.
