The SunShield SPF50 (50ml), $96, from Estetica, is a tinted sunscreen that changes colour upon application to complement your skin tone perfectly as well as offer sheer coverage.

#1 Sun screen
Especially if you’re taking your wedding portraits outdoors, the last thing you want is getting a nasty sunburn during and after your shoot. Apply sun protection liberally on your face (before your makeup) and on exposed parts of your body. Opt for a lightweight formula to avoid that greasy, icky feeling while you’re taking your portraits.

#2 Lip balm
Chapped lips ruining your lipstick application? If you’re heading to a destination during winter, or one with low humidity, that’s a likely possibility. Keep peeling kissers at bay with regular application of lip balm.

The Bioderma Hydrabio Serum retrains the skin to activate its natural moisturising capacities by stimulating the production of aquaporins, water channels in the skin, and retain the water it needs to be balanced.

#3 Moisturiser
You don’t want dry flaky skin during your photo shoot! Keep your skin hydrated with a moisturiser or hydrating serum for smooth, plumped up skin that will not just have you looking youthful and radiant, but also have your makeup glide on like a dream.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion – Original, $33, from Sephora.

#4 Makeup/Eye Shadow Primer
A makeup primer doesn’t just lets your makeup glide on like a dream, it helps keep it on too. For eyeshadow primers, a personal favourite of mine is Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion. The texture might seem a little thick upon application but my eye makeup stays on all day!

There’s one for every skin type from Sephora’s latest collection of micellar gels.  $9 each, from all Sephora stores.

#5 Cleansing wipes or micellar water
Cleaning your makeup off after an exhausting shoot can be somewhat of a drag. Enter rinse-free micellar water/gels and makeup wipes. Plus, these ones from Sephora’s new collection come in the yummiest flavours and come with skin-happy benefits.

#6 Eye cream

Long-haul flights and preparation for your trip can take a toll on your beauty sleep, which can result in dark circles and puffy eyes. Well, there’s always concealer, you say. But why hide them when you can reduce them, right? Plus, there’s always a possibility of your concealer creasing in the heat. During your flight and the night before your shoot, dab on some eye cream for sparkling, radiant peepers during your shoot.
