1. Use a prop or props
Pick props that will get the message across quickly. For instance, a wedding planner or guide book, a mug that reads “Does this ring make me look engaged?”, scrabble tiles that spell out your new status, or even a coffee cup that announces your new status (you can have something to the effect of Mrs So-and-so to be). Just hold your prop in such a way that your ring can obviously be seen.

2. Put it in the sand
Beach proposals are usually picture-perfect opportunities to get your announcement across. You can either write your answer in the sand, or leave your hand print there with your new ring on top. The possibilities are endless.

3. Include your partner-to-be
It’s his special day too. If you have to have a ring selfie, here are several ways to inclued him: hug him with your ring visible in the foreground, hold his hand, or have him stand in the background with your ring in focus.

4. Enlist the help of your pets
This may take some time to coordinate, and you may not be able to make your announcement as quickly. But if you’re okay with that, have your pet carry a sign (much like the ones where they announce your arrival before your walk down the aisle).

5. Get a friend or family member to chip in
Too shy to make your own announcement? Ask a close friend or a sibling (or cousin) to do it for you with hints and adorable pictures of both you and her to get your friends guessing who’s engaged. No prizes for guessing who, though. 🙂

6. Create a quiz
This doesn’t have to be too elaborate. A simple fill-in-the-blanks passage (the words in the blanks, when put together, will reveal your news) should get friends guessing what’s up already.
