If you’ve read our previous stories on saving on wedding costs, escort cards aren’t high on our list of priorities. Plus, these aren’t common in Singapore weddings, especially when they cost extra, and it’s usually easier to ask helpers to sit at the reception table to direct them. But these easy-to-follow ideas are too lovely to resist, especially when they make great photos for the album, and don’t cost much to create.

Nature’s best
Fruit-themed escort cards are whimsical, and they give guests something juicy to have after the meal, or to take home. (See how we translated the same idea into individual place settings, here)

To have and hold
Have your escort cards double as favours, like these pretty glasses with guests’ names on matching printed signs on sticks.

Airmail
We love the sentiment and idea of having vintage postcards (complete with old stamps) for your guests, especially if you’re having many older relatives at the wedding. If they come filled, write your guests’ names and table numbers on envelope labels and stick them over the addresses. If they’re blank, include a little note for them, too (if time permits, that is).

Target practice
Whether you’re a fan of archery or not, this arrow-filled target board hit the bullseye when it comes to unique concepts and style.

Reflections
Take a leaf out of Inga and James’ gorgeous wedding, with calligraphed escort cards affixed to an old restored bronze mirror, which the couple found at an antique market.

Love is in the air
Stefanie and Samuel folded paper airplanes on black and ivory paper and penned guests’ names and table numbers in the folds, to pay homage to their long-distance relationship before getting married in Singapore.

Keys to happiness
Vintage keys are a beautiful and classic sentiment, and we’re sure your guests will appreciate the gesture just as much. They don’t need much to look good, too. Simply include a tag with names and table numbers, with an equally gorgeous sign at the table.

#throwback
Put a face to the name, by having old photos of your guests’ on Polaroids (or Polaroid-like photos on cards, easily recreated with sites like www.poladroid.net), and have them identify themselves, with their table numbers on a chart.

Worth its weight in gold
For a glamorous wedding, have gold spray painted succulents prop up your elegant, calligraphed escort cards for guests.

Leaf them not
Go green and pen guests’ names on leaves, then affix them to a board, or lay them out at the reception table. The best part: It’s free!

Genius in a bottle
This generous couple gifted each table with a bottle of wine to enjoy during their reception. They cleverly saved on escort cards by labelling each bottle with the table number, and the list of people seated per table, too.

If #Alice got married and had a super #glamorous #classic #wedding these would be her escort cards.

Flower rondo
We’re obsessed with the idea of flower walls and paper flowers recently, we couldn’t help but admire this lush escort card display complete with roses and then some.

Pocket display
If you love structure and the idea of library cards in their pockets (don’t ask, these just remind me of them), these colourful pockets with guests’ names peeking out of each one, is so refreshing, and fun to have.

Dip dye
Keep things simple with a printed card that’s dip dyed at the bottom in your wedding colours. Have them on card stock or heavy paper, so guests can reuse them as bookmarks or as a fond memento of your wedding.

Boiled down to a science
This couple met in school (chemistry class, to be precise), and had to have pretty test-tube escort cards as part of their wedding decor. Too pretty!
