Lifestyle and food bloger Miss Tam Chiak had a three-tier lychee-rose-flavoured sponge dressed with fresh blooms for her vintage/carnival-themed wedding lunch reception. She is a huge fan of French pastry chef Pierre Hermes’ Ipsahan (lychee rose) cake, and got local baker Butter Studio to recreate it. See also: the things we loved from her wedding.
Daphne and Chris had a two-tier vanilla sponge with cream cheese frosting topped with lots of berries. The naked cake was chosen to fit in with the couple’s rustic-themed wedding, and for Daphne’s friends, who have not eaten wedding cake before.
Katrina and Cory celebrated their union with a spice-flavoured pumpkin wedding cake with buttercream frosting and caramel filling. It was topped with six Austrian figurines, a gift to Katrina from Cory’s grandmother.
Sabrina and Tim had two cakes, including this delicious three-tiered caramel confection by Plain Vanilla for the Brazil Churrasco dinner.
Yuling and Anders had a delicious sponge cake with Italian meringue butter cream and lingonberry jam (Anders is Swedish) between its layers. The cake was heaped with raspberries, blackberries and strawberries plus icing sugar lightly dusted over. Fresh flowers dressed each tier, and the cake was topped with two Totoro figurines, the couple’s favourite anime character.
May and Andy had a cheery outdoor ceremony and lunch, which applied to everything, including their rainbow naked cake.
Samantha and Tuan’s strawberry cake at the dessert table was polished off in minutes at their whimsical wedding at Chijmes.
