Chocolate, or rather raw cacao, is a good source of anti-aging antioxidants called flavonoids and it protects your skin from UV damage, preventing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and skin discolorations.
Contrary to popular belief, it doesn’t actually cause pimples! We’d recommend having at least a bite-sized amount of dark chocolate daily.

This unassuming nut contains tons of nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E to maintain your skin’s suppleness and keep it from sagging. It also protects your hair from sun damage; keeping it fizz-free and shiny.
Get your daily intake by simply eating a handful raw or top off your salad or yogurt bowls with some chopped ones.

To fight the appearance of wrinkles, there’s no better food than spinach for the task. Containing a triple dose of antioxidants from vitamin C, vitamin E and beta-cartene, these work together to protect your skin from UV rays.
Add this to your lunch or dinner – lightly sauteed with olive oil, garlic and a dash of sea salt.

There’s good reason for the rise of chia seeds in recent years. Its packed fully with protein, fiber and omega-3s which are all good for your skin and hair. They’re good for dieting as well, with their ability to absorb up to 12 times their weight in water, thus keeping you feeling full for longer.
The easiest way to incorporate them into your daily diet would just be to drink them with water, or mix them into a delicious yogurt bowl or smoothie.

Flaxseeds contains a huge amount of omega-3 fatty acids which helps maintain a healthy rate of skin cell renewal and we all know how important that is in maintaining a youthful, healthy glow.
Preliminary studies have shown that omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids help combat and treat skin conditions like acne and eczema. Ground them up and mix them in spreads or yogurt bowls.

We’d like to join the ‘Avocados are overrated’ bandwagon but there’s a reason for its explosive popularity. The monounsaturated fatty acids found in avocados not only help with lowering bad cholestrol levels, but it also reduces skin aging.
