The top 10 wedding songs in 2018, according to Spotify

Music giant Spotify has released a roundup of the 50 most popular wedding songs in 2018. From English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran's top hit to retro beats, here's the top 10 in the list.

#1 "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran

English crooner and songwriter Ed Sheeran's Thinking Out Loud takes the number #1 spot. No surprises there.

#2 "Marry You" by Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars' chart topper may have been released in 2010 but it's still a hot favourite at weddings. The upbeat number is great for making a fun wedding entrance, or for the after-party on the dance floor.

#3 "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran

"Perfect was the first song that I wrote for the album. It was inspired by Cherry (Sheeran's childhood sweetheart and now-fiancee). The line that goes, ‘Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favorite song’ was about when we were in Ibiza listening to Future’s March Madness literally not wearing any shoes and going mental on the lawn, which was quite a nice time. I didn’t see her first reaction to the song because she lived in New York at the time. So I just emailed it to her but she did really like it,” the singer told Us Magazine.

#4 "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" by Whitney Houston

Newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan Markle danced to this hit by the late Whitney Houston for their first dance . Need we say more?

#5 "All of Me" by John Legend

With its incredibly romantic lyrics and John Legend's soulful voice, it's no wonder this touching ballad is a wedding favourite. Plus, it was dedicated to Legend's wife, Chrissy Teigen. Talk about marriage goals!

#7 "My Girl" by The Temptations

Want to give your wedding a retro spin? The signature song of 60s vocals band The Temptations is your go-to.

#8 "Thousand Years" by Christina Perri

The slow tempo of this song makes it perfect for a dreamy march-in if you're planning a romantic celebration.

#9 "Marry Me" by Train

With Train's soothing voice behind lyrics like, " Promise me/ You'll always be happy by my side / I promise to sing to you / When all the music dies", this is the perfect piece for your wedding video, first dance or even the proposal. BRB, swooning.

#10 "You Make My Dreams" by Daryl Hall & John Oates

If you prefer your first dance to be more fun than romantic, the catchy beat of this 70s number by American duo Daryl Hall & John Oates (which made the soundtrack album for the movie 500 Days of Summer) is one to consider.
