The Mast’ is a new Italian eatery in the CBD that takes its cheese so seriously, it makes its own mozarella, burrata and stracciatella in the restaurant itself. This usually happens every morning, but on Valentine’s Day, The Mast’ is offering couples the chance to witness a mozzarella-making demonstration at 6.45pm, where they’ll get a first-hand look at the masters at work as they knot and braid strands of milky cheese. Following this, the four-course set dinner, $140++ per couple, will be served. The meal begins with the Trio of Burrata platter. Each one is stuffed with smoked salmon, prosciutto, and antipasti (eggplant, zucchini and sun-dried tomatoes), accompanied with artisanal schiacciata bread and a glass of Botter Extra Dry DOC Prosecco for you and your date. Then comes the Italian Tomato Soup with parsley, olive oil and toasted croutons before the main course, a T-Bone Steak Florentine, served with steamed vegetables and fresh porcini cream sauce. A glass of Caparzo Sangiovese per guest—a fresh, bright wine with hints of blackberry and raspberry—will also be served alongside the main. End the romantic evening on a sweet note with Millefoglie, a light, layered pastry brimming with velvety custard and homemade fresh strawberry coulis.
